If you're the one looking for a date, MeetMyMate lets you fill in most of your profile but then asks you to nominate a mate to do the rest, just like you take a friend to a party or the pub.

(1) You fill out your personal details, such as your height, looks and likes and the kind of date you are after.

(2) Your mate then adds the sort of things that only a mate can. Funny stories of how you met, observations that a potential date might find attractive or just a simple tale of why they think you are the goods.

(3) You can ask more mates to add to your profile by answering questions about you.

(4) You can check out other people's mates and see what they have to say, so you get a better picture of who you are talking to and who they like to hang out with, just like you would if you met a new person at the pub or a party.

Your mates can search for dates they think are right for you then send you a list for you to choose from. And you can do the same for them.

And if any of your mates start acting up you can always change them for new ones.
